Dealt Rakeback Method
Dealt rakeback is a method that many poker rooms use to calculate how much rake a player pays every month. This is important because when players have rakeback deals at those poker sites, the method used to determine how much rake they pay directly affects how much money those players receive in the form of rakeback every month.
Calculating the rake each player pays every month isn’t as simple as you would imagine. The problem is that several players contribute money to each pot but only one player (the winner of the pot) pays the rake each time. The simplest way to calculate the rake each individual player pays every month is to use the dealt rakeback method.
In the dealt rakeback method, each player is given credit for contributing an equal amount of the rake taken out of every pot. For example, if 4 players play in a large pot that gets raked $4, each player is given credit for contributing $1 to the rake of that pot. No matter how much money each player contributed to the pot, the dealt rakeback method considers each player to have paid an equal amount in rake.
The dealt rakeback method gets its name from the fact that the only thing you need to do to be given credit for paying the rake is to have been dealt cards. Even if you fold your hand, you are given credit for paying a part of the rake taken out of that pot.

Who Needs Dealt Rakeback?
Tight-aggressive poker players should always look for dealt rakeback deals. Even if you fold 85% of your hands, you’ll get credit for every hand in which you receive cards. This is great because you can play your normal, tight style and still receive nice fat rakeback payments.
In fact, any player who plays a tight style or is reluctant to throw money at every pot should look into getting a dealt rakeback deal. If you don’t get one, you won’t receive as much rakeback because all the other loose players will be given credit for paying the rake. In other methods of calculating rakeback, you only get paid for the pots you actually contribute to. In the end, it simply pays better for tight players to have a dealt rakeback deal.
Loose and aggressive players should avoid the dealt rakeback method because they basically have to “share” their rake with all the tight players at the table. If you are a loose player (and don’t plan on becoming tight any time soon), you should instead get a contributed rakeback deal. You’ll fare better with that deal because you will get credit for all the pots you play and all the money you contribute to those pots.
